New Arrivals!

The book cart this month is filled with Advent and Christmas books, CDs, and DVDs for all ages to enjoy. The cart is to the left as you enter the front doors of the church. Please fill out the card with the date and your name and place it in the plastic box on the cart. There is no due date so take time to relax with a Christmas movie, curl up in a comfortable chair with a Christmas book, or listen to Christmas music as you bake those tasty Christmas treats.

January's entries into the library begin with three books by Lynn Austin:

  • Keepers of the Covenant is book two of the Restoration Chronicles following Return to Me. Forty thousand exiles returned to Jerusalem and with encouragement by Haggai and Zechariah rebuilt God's temple. But those who stayed behind found the doors were shut again. All hope for restoration was gone.
  • On This foundation is the third book of the series. Nehemiah learns that Jerusalem's walls have been destroyed. With God's guidance and protection from those who threaten to assassinate him, he returns to rebuild the wall.
  • Eve's Daughters is a story of four generations of women in the Bauer family. Emma Bauer has kept a secret for fifty years that has affected the lives and marriages of the women from her mother down to her granddaughter.

  • Hummingbird by Lavyrle Spencer is donated by Marlene Roberts. The bandit and the gentleman are wounded in a train robbery and cared for by the same woman. Both men have won Abigail's heart and force her to make a choice.

  • Bygones by Lavyrle Spencer. Bess Curran's husband had an affair after sixteen years of marriage. Now six years later, their daughter, Lisa, invites both parents to dinner to announce she is pregnant and planning to marry. Hoping to bring them back together she asks that both walk her down the aisle.

  • Same Kind of Different As Me by Ron Hall and Denver Moore is a true story written from the perspective of each. Ron is an art dealer and Denver's family were sharecroppers. Their worlds collided in a mission in Fort Worth after Deborah and the reluctant Ron volunteered to serve meals
