Altar Guild

The Altar Guild is responsible for setting the altar for Sunday services.  They make sure the correct color paraments are on the altar and pulpit, place the appropriate banners in the church, fill the candles with oil, and set the communion table.  There is an annual meeting held in January, and Altar Guild members meet with the Pastor to discuss the month's activities at the beginning of their assigned month(s).  This is not difficult work, but it is a very important ministry to the church.

Thank you to who have generously offered to provide bread and/or wine for communion.  Please bring these items to church on the Friday before the first Sunday of the month. The office is open between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm on Friday. Usually there is no one at church on Saturday, so unless you have a key to get in, you will be unable to deliver these items. Altar Guild members no longer have a specific time to set up for communion, so it's just easier on all concerned if you can drop your contribution off on Friday. Thank you

Please take a moment to consider donating altar flowers that beautify the church throughout the year. The flower reservation binder is on the wall by the Altar Guild bulletin board in the fellowship hall. Bouquets are ordered from Merlin’s, at a cost of $18.00 each, and are delivered every other week. There are envelopes in the rack to use for your flower payment. This will help the Altar Guild Treasurer keep track of donations.

If you have questions about this system, please contact any of the Altar Guild people listed in the Sunday Bulletins, or Kay Johnson.

Elected officers for 2017 are Kay Johnson, President, Lynn Knodle, Vice-President and Sunshine Chairman, Bridget Reibel, Secretary, and Jo Marie Branson, Treasurer.

We are always looking for new Altar Guild members to assist in setting up the sanctuary for Sunday worship. If you are interested in joining but have questions about the work we do, please contact Kay Johnson, Lynn Knodle, Bridget Reibel or Jo Marie Branson for more information. Everyone is invited to join – men, women, youth – everyone! Many hands make light work!

If you have any questions, please contact Kay Johnson or Mike Reibel.
