WELCA

Mission Statement:  To mobilize women to act boldly on their faith in Jesus Christ

All women of All Saints Lutheran Church are considered members of WELCA.

WELCA sponsors many projects including the collection of non-perishable food for People Helping People, the collection of caps, mittens, scarves, toys and other gift items for LSSI at Christmastime, the creation and delivery of many beautiful quilts to Lutheran World Relief, and collecting and assembling items for health kits and baby layettes, also for LWR.  We have also been supporting the Lutheran World Relief Global Initiative by selling fair trade coffee, and recently added fair trade almonds to our offerings.  WELCA also serves as needed for funerals, receptions, and other special fellowship occasions.

Are you interested in connecting with other women in our congregation? You are a part of WELCA – Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. You are invited and encouraged to join in all the activities organized by WELCA. We have a brief fellowship and organizational meeting four times a year. Throughout the year we have several activities in which you may have already taken part. In the Spring we hold a rummage sale fundraiser and a Spring Ladies Luncheon. In November we have held a bake sale. The proceeds of the fundraiser have helped to purchase non-budgeted items for the church and help subsidize youth activities. There are many women’s groups that meet monthly such as the Quilters, the Gathering, and Book club.

We have so many thanks to share for all the support in April. Thanks for supporting the Palm Sunday bake sale where we made almost $150. Thank you for all the contributions of items and volunteers for the April rummage sale. There was so much to sell and so many people who shared their time and efforts to make the sale happen. We were able to raise more than $1,800.00! The quilts that were raffled went to Mihcal McClelland and Elaine Jucha.

Next meeting:  September 29 - Breakfast brunch in the fellowship hall at 9:00 am with meeting to follow.
