Our Mission Statement:

Responding to the Gospel to carry out God’s mission

Statement of Intent behind the Mission Statement

We, baptized members of the Church of Christ, responding in faith to the call of the Holy Spirit through the Gospel, desire to unite together to preach the Word, administer the sacraments, and carry out God’s mission in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. It is God’s work, our hands. So, as members of the Church of Christ and as members of All Saints Lutheran Church (ELCA), we live out our mission through these faith practices:

PRAY – praying for others in time of need and celebration, for ourselves in the work of the Gospel, and for God’s will to be done among us;

STUDY – educating all in the Christian faith through the Word of God from a Lutheran tradition;

WORSHIP – worshiping God as Triune and proclaiming Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior through demonstrating faith and love in our daily lives;

INVITE – endeavoring to reach the unchurched through word and action and to invite them to come and see;

ENCOURAGE – encouraging personal growth, peace, well-being and fellowship through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit;

SERVE – being sensitive to the needs of others, loving others as ourselves, caring for neighbor, and doing God’s work with our hands; and

GIVE – responding to the opportunities to effectively share our time, talent and financial resources.

All this is in gratitude for God’s grace and love.

At All Saints we strive to provide a sanctuary for prayerful worship within a respectful and welcoming environment and to meet the spiritual needs of our congregation and community, using Christian ideas and values.

At the present All Saints is fortunate to have its mission enriched in many ways:

  • Groups that contribute to the worship service itself
  • Groups that add a further dimension to our faith (Bible Studies, multiple levels of Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Prayer Chain)
  • Groups or individuals that serve others when needed (WELCA, members who help with Alcoholics Anonymous, People Helping People.)
  • Groups that add a social dimension to the lives of members (Advent and Lent mid-week soup suppers prior to worship, Byron Friday morning Breakfast Group, special events planned throughout the year)

These groups or services have all been started at All Saints at various times. Some may not have a regular agenda, but they all seek to meet needs as an outgrowth of God’s accepting and uplifting in Jesus Christ.
